On this podcast, Salim is joined by Muhbeen Hussain, the founder of Rotherham-based organization British Muslim Youth. They discuss how the organisation came into existence and what it stands for. They also talk more broadly about the notion of young being being engaged in politics and activism and where to find the balance between engaging with government and shouting from the outside. They also discuss the town of Rotherham and the historic abuse cases that have taken place in the town, the impact that has had on the local Muslim community and their response. Muhbeen goes into details about the Rotherham 12 Defence Campaign, involving 12 Muslim men in Rotherham arrested for defending their community - listen to hear the full story!
