In this podcast I explore the socio-economic challenges facing the youth in South Africa today, and strategies that are required to overcome these challenges. My guest is Dr Hamadziripi Tamukamoyo, the Managing Director of the Youth Development Institute of South Africa. This is a collaborative initiative between the University of Johannesburg and the National Youth Development Agency to support empirical research that can underpin policy, and to create a platform to give young people voice in public policy making. We look at the barriers that young people are confronted with, lack of opportunities for meaningful economic participation, and the meaning of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
