For Season 3, Episode 17 of the Youth Gone Mild Podcast, host Gen X Joe has Adam Bernard as his guest. Bernard is a music journalist with 25 years of experience and a reputation for championing indie artists. In 2020 he wrote 'ChemBro: Embracing Beastmode to Beat Cancer', a memoir about being diagnosed with testicular cancer that had spread to a lung while he was training for his fifth-degree black belt in Kempo, which is remarkable. However, he and Gen X Joe discuss his latest book, 'One Hit Wondering: The Stories of 40 One Hit Wonders + Other Tales From The Crates', which was released July 21, 2026.
The book grew out of a column where he listens to a one-hit wonder's album and finds three songs, other than the hit, that people should hear. The book collects 40 of those columns, which took over three years to write. It profiles 80's, 90's, and 00's artists and spotlights his favorite hidden tracks from their albums.
Join the one hit wonder podcaster, Gen X Joe for this week's latest episode of the Youth Gone Mild Podcast, "Where Hairlines Fade, But, Rock Never Does!"

π§π YOUTH GONE MILD GUEST: SEAN MANNING.ππΈ
Buckle up for Season 3, Episode 16, because this one's a deep cut from the SoCal underground. English guitarist Sean Manning β a road-tested player who logged time with HURRICANE and Quiet Riot offshoot Little Women β teamed up with singer Paul Rafferty (the original voice of Bonham ) to form The Exiles, who spent the early '90s grinding away on the Southern California circuit and stacking up a serious pile of unreleased material from the band.
Now comes 'Turning Time,' a full-scale rework of those original ten songs β plus five bonus tracks Manning unearthed while transferring old analog reels to digital.
Highlights include the soaring "Soul Woman," the hypnotic, Stones-flavored "Ain't No Fool," and "Soul Has No Home," which channels serious early Rod Stewart, Bad Company, The Rolling Stones and more type of energy.
Listen now for the story behind the record and much more on this Double Dose of Denim Week Interviews on the Youth Gone Mild Podcast.
