October is National Youth Justice Action Month (YJAM)

Our 1st Episode of 2023 and new offerings in a youth series, features a Youth Panel comprised of high school students, a college freshman, and parole and probation agent speaking about their experiences, requests to education leaders to make their schools safer, and tips to help students avoid becoming a part of the juvenile justice system.

Read more about the onset of National Youth Justice Action Month and the loss of the McClard family that led

to it. This month focuses on improving juvenile detention practices and the laws that govern the sentencing and handling of youth in custody.

Youth movements across the country now include helping youth to avoid the perils of detention centers through
