Welcome to Community Resources Minnesota, a podcast where we explore the different community resources that Minnesota has to offer! The first part of our episodes explore individual organizations, nonprofits, or opportunities and the second part of our episodes list out information from authoritative sources like the Minnesota Department of Health.
Today we are exploring Youth Services Network. Youth Services Network is an online resource located at YSNMN.org.
The following information all comes from observations of the Youth Services Network website.
Youth Services Network
The site is an efficient and very useful directory of resources. On either your phone or computer the site will ask for your location to connect you with the resources that are closest to you. Youth Services Network connects you with shelters, outreach workers, or other programs. We’ll now take a brief look at each.
Shelters
When there’s no beds that match your needs:
Under 18 call or text the BFY Youth Response Center: Text (612) 400-7233 or call (612) 377-8800
18 and over contact the YMCA Youth Resource Line: 763-493-3052
As of this recording the Shelters section of YSNMN.org has 12 shelters. 9 of those are currently greyed out and 3 of them are clickable. I believe that means that 3 of the shelters listed have availability.
Outreach Workers
A list of 3 outreach workers is provided along with their contact information.
Programs
The programs on the website are all pages with contact information regarding the appropriate subject matter. Again - the site is very direct and efficient with information.
Basic Need Drop-in
Health and Wellness
Food
Mental/Emotional Health
Resource Hotlines?
Pregnant and Parenting
Education
Employment
