Welcome to Weddin Shire Youth Yarn. This is our pilot episode- we would love your feedback! Please get in touch via [email protected] or 0437 229 092 with any comments, suggestions, or ideas for future episodes. We hope Youth Yarn is a positive reflection on our culture and community here in the Weddin Shire.
We aim to:
promote connections and supports within the Weddin Shire for the health and wellbeing of our kids and their families
showcase the unique perspectives and experiences of individuals in our community
promote local clubs and organisations to increase their reach and encourage participation
offer opportunities for listeners to actively participate in the podcast by interviewing or collecting stories from family and friends
encourage kids to get out in nature with the Weddin Wilds segment, to photograph the featured species for a chance to win a prize
involve our whole community- the title of the podcast is Youth Yarn, but we hope to involve all age groups in order to capture a broad spectrum of stories, experiences, and knowledge
present what YOU, the listener, would like to hear
We encourage you to get involved and let us know your thoughts on the project, and what you might like to see from it in the future.
We're also looking for an individual or team to eventually take over this project- the invitation is extended to anyone with a keen interest in radio or podcasting. Please stay tuned for more information regarding this opportunity.
Thank you for listening in.
