The month of November will be a busy one for Calgary's poet Laureate, Sheri-D Wilson. She will be appearing at the Canadian Jazz Festival (https://www.jazzyyc.com/) on November 8 and 9, opening for jazz great Quincy Troupe (Miles Davis' biographer and friend). In addition, she is spending the month scouring her city for stories of the extraordinary and the ordinary. When her term as Poet Laureate wraps up in April of 2020, she wants to launch an anthology collecting poems and prose, fiction and non-fiction all about Calgarians. She hopes to find stories that paint a portrait of modern Calgary from the people living today, who are affected by those famous or anonymous, past or present. To challenge those who write, or haven't yet, she came in to speak with Russell Bowers.
