Why does The AI Translator exist?
Because AI is a foreign language — and right now, the people who speak it are mostly talking to each other.
There are millions of business owners who know something is happening with AI, who know they probably should be doing something about it, but every time they try to read about it or watch a video about it, they feel like they're reading a different language.
This podcast is the translation.
In this first episode, I explain who I am and why I'm the person to do it. I am not a tech person who learned about business. I am a business person who learned about tech. And that distinction is everything.
Thirty years. Eighteen café and bakery locations across Ireland. Airline flight operations. Luxury retail. Insurance business turnarounds. I've done the payroll on a Friday when the numbers were tight. I've managed teams through crises at six in the morning. I've sat in the chair you're sitting in.
And what I know from thirty years in that chair is this: most business owners are drowning in the operational detail of their own business. Not because they're bad at business. Because nobody ever gave them the systems to get out of it.
AI is not a magic wand. It is not a replacement for the people who work for you. It is a way to handle the things that were never a good use of a human being's time in the first place — the admin, the repetition, the same customer email answered for the fortieth time, the things that keep you working at midnight when you should be planning the next quarter.
Every episode of The AI Translator will do one of three things: show you a specific AI tool and exactly how to use it, walk through a real business problem and how I'd approach it with AI, or tell you the honest truth about something in the AI world that isn't quite what it seems.
Eight minutes. Maybe ten. No longer. Because your time is the most valuable thing you have.
This podcast is for the restaurant owner listening on the way to open up at seven in the morning. The insurance broker on the school run. The hotel manager with twenty minutes after a long Saturday shift who wants one useful idea, not an hour of theory.
If that's you — subscribe wherever you're listening.
And if you want to talk about your specific business — where AI could genuinely help and where it would be a waste of money — the link is in the show notes. Free twenty-minute call. No pitch. Just a straight conversation.
I'm Zac Jan. This is The AI Translator.
