After graduating from Brown in 2020, Zach Hunsaker (3x Varsity Men's Basketball Captain) heard about the new NCAA NIL rule change that would allow athletes the right to profit from the use of their own Name, Image, and Likeness. His startup, AKRÜ, was born from the idea of targeting this athletic niche that would allow collegiate athletes and social media users alike to monetize their platform and content no matter the size of their following or status of their school.
