Finally, there was an extraordinary collaboration between whale experts, UC Davis scientists, and SETI in a quest to communicate with humpback whales. The researchers had a 20-minute conversation with Twain, a humpback whale, to explore the parallels between whale communication and potential contact with intelligent extraterrestrial life. Could understanding how whales respond to signals guide us in our search for signals from outer space? JI'm not sure but it does raise some major questions.
