I spent years believing the answer was always to work harder.

When baseball wasn’t going well, I trained more. When I struggled, I tried to outwork the problem.

But eventually I realized that some of the habits I thought were making me more disciplined were actually making me more isolated, more obsessed with my performance, and less free when I played.

This is the story of going from TCU to JUCO to LMU—and eventually learning that sometimes getting better requires knowing when to let go.

So where’s the line?

I don't have all the answers about Christianity. I'm not a perfect Christian either.

So instead of pretending I do, I wanted to wrestle with five questions about faith that I genuinely find difficult:

What if the things we pray for would actually make us worse people?

Can you genuinely love someone while believing they're wrong?

If God already knows what's going to happen, why does prayer matter?

Why would Jesus tell us to love our enemies when almost every instinct tells us not to?

What if the goal of life isn't actually to be happy?

These are my thoughts—not the final answers.

If you disagree with something I said, tell me why. The goal isn't for all of us to think exactly the same. It's to ask better questions, pursue truth, and hopefully understand Christ a little better along the way.
