Dr. Marisa Richmond is a professor of history and gender studies at Middle Tennessee State University. She's also an activist, starting the Tennessee Transgender Political Coalition, a winner of Davidson County Democratic Woman of the year, the first black trans woman to be elected to a delegate to a major party convention.
