In a Station of the Metro(Ezra Pound) The apparition of these faces in the crowd; Petals on a wet, black bough. 龐德（Ezra Pound）在地鐵站In a Station of the Metro最初由Ezra  Pound寫成時有上百行。站在地鐵出口處的面對著黑壓壓的人群，面對著這個後來成為經典的意象，詩人眼前閃過的是大自然中的一枝樹條和依附在樹條上的花朵。被雨水打敗了的花朵如同撲面而來的無數張臉龐，麻木而毫無靈性。 於是，百行的詩句被他簡約成了只有二行：The apparition of these faces in the crowd； Petals on  a wet，black bough。被稱為最短的詩。
