1 Corinthians 14:1-4 KJV
[1] Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts , but rather that ye may prophesy. [2] For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him ; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. [3] But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. [4] He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
You must desire spiritual things as a Christian. Desire things like:
Prophesying
Speaking in tongues
Believing in angels
etc
The Bible tells us that we do not have to pray for these things but only desire it!
We desire and set landmarks and goals for the things of the world. We must also learn to desire and set spiritual goals.
The Greek word for desire is “Zeloo”. What does this word “Zeloo” mean?
It means:
1. To desire - a strong feeling of wanting to have something or wishing for something to happen.
2. To covert - not openly acknowledged or displayed
3. To crave - feel a powerful desire for (something)
4.  To wish - feel or express a strong desire or hope for something that is not easily attainable; want something that cannot or probably will not happen
5. To be ravenous - extremely hungry
What desire do you have for God?
You cry to your husband with a desire, you cry to your wife with a desire but when have you cried to God with a desire? Cry to God for spiritual things!
Galatians 4:19 KJV
[19] My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,
God is not against prosperity but have a desire for him. Do not set your affections on only things of the earth. Desire, crave for, be ravenous and set your affection on things above
Colossians 3:1-2 KJV
[1] If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. [2] Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
