The Commission of Inquiry into allegations of State Capture has confirmed that this whole week has been set aside to hear testimony from former president Jacob Zuma. In a statement it released yesterday, it says all relevant staff including evidence leaders are ready to proceed today. But Zuma has stated publicly that he will not go to the Commission, despite a ruling by the Constitutional Court ordering him to do so. The Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution (CASAC) has been concerned about Zuma’s utterances saying the Commission should have Zuma charged with contempt of court if he fails to appear this morning.
