After a time spent using the Apple Watch, you become aware of the Apps you most commonly access. This tip video shows you how to customise your watch faces, complications and the dock to have these most commonly used apps available to you.

Handling the location and metadata for your photos can be an arduous task. Many photo managing apps don't make this easy and often times the metadata is only contained in the library and doesn't go along with your image files if you move them to another library.

HoudahGeo 5 is an application that streamlines adding location and other metadata to your files. The best part is that it writes that information to the files themselves instead of the library's catalog. HoudahGeo can also communicate with programs like Photos and Lightroom to make sure that those libraries are aware of the changes and perform the necessary updates inside the library.

We frequently interact with the Save and Open dialog boxes when using our Mac. This tip video gives you some keyboard shortcuts to help navigate those actions, as well as change the target location when saving your files.

Taking screenshots on iOS devices is a snap in iOS 11. There are also some handy annotation features to mark up your screenshots and share them with people. You can also discard screenshots easily if you don't want to keep them indefinitely.

If you do wish to save them, the Photos app stores them in a special Screenshots album for easy retrieval. You can even take screenshots from Apple Watch and they sync automatically to your iPhone and iPad via the iCloud Photo Library, and can also be marked up or shared via the Photos app.

Adobe Illustrator and Affinity Designer are the big names in vector design programs. These are highly capable, but highly complex programs. Affinity Designer for iPad just came out and it's also highly capable but with a steep learning curve. If you want to learn to design with vectors, or you only need to make simple designs, these programs can be overkill.

The free Vectornator Pro for iOS might be just what you need. While an Apple Pencil with an iPad Pro is a fantastic way to create artwork with Vectornator Pro, it also works well on the small screens of the iPhone.

Live Photos are a great addition to the iPhone and you can further transform them using one of three effects: Loop, Bounce and Long Exposure.

I love using the Long Exposure effect on any running water or fountains. It makes a huge difference on your photos, without the need for specialist photo equipment or in-depth technical knowledge.

However, when out and about recently, I had a brain freeze and couldn't remember how to access the Live Photo effects - not everything in iOS is as discoverable as it should be. So I thought it would be a great topic for a refresher tip video!

One thing we're not short of is note taking apps for the Mac or iOS.
