Psalm 1, “Blessed is the man, who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.  He shall be like a tree, planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.”

There is such scorning in our society today, that many people can no longer even stand or acknowledge or appreciate when good has been done. May that never be so with those of us who know God.

For you and I, it’s time to pray!

Proverbs chapter 11, beginning at verse 20, “Those who are of a perverse heart are an abomination to the Lord, but the blameless in their ways are His delight. Though they join forces, the wicked will not go unpunished; But the posterity of the righteous will be delivered.”

In my lifetime, I have never seen the godless as united in mockery and rebellion against God’s order as they are today. They parade their evil, broadcast their scorning, and gather the likeminded in their opposition to good and to God. They have no idea, that according to scripture, hell has opened wide its mouth and they are marching straight into it, and they are marching there forever.

Pray for them. They don’t know what they do.

It’s time to pray!

Psalm 68, beginning at verse 7, “O God, when You went out before Your people, When You marched through the wilderness. The earth shook; the heavens also dropped rain at the presence of God; Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel. You, O God, sent a plentiful rain, whereby You confirmed Your inheritance, when it was weary.”

God’s presence in your life brings with it an incredible promise. Though you may be sometimes dry, weary and seemingly in a wilderness, even there, and especially there, He promises to be with you, confirming your calling and being your everyday source of supply.

If you are weary today, close your eyes, tell Jesus you trust Him, and let the rain come.

Psalm 68, beginning at verse 5, “A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy habitation. God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity; But the rebellious dwell in a dry land.”

In Job chapter 21, verse 3, a godly man said these words, “Bear with me that I may speak, and after I have spoken keep mocking.” It’s so difficult for the rebellious to hear truth when it’s spoken. Thinking outside of truth, they form their own world in their own minds. However, being void of truth, it is a dry place, empty of the beauty and provision which only God can bring.

America today is in peril of becoming another one of these dry places. Pray for the scoffers and mockers to see the peril of their position.

I just love the Tuesday night prayer meeting here at Times Square Church. It is just absolutely phenomenal to see the things that God is doing in people’s lives and to hear their praise reports. Some people are getting healed from life-threatening conditions, and others are praise reports of little things, which causes me to be thankful because God is concerned about the little things as well as the big things.

Here’s an example of that from Newark, Delaware, “a screw got stuck in my car tire. I asked God for favor to make the repair affordable. The mechanic pulled out the screw, there is no leak, no repair needed.” Thanks Dave for sending that in to us.

And Steve here from New York says, “on Saturday someone stole my three shoes left outside my apartment. I asked God to touch the heart of the robber, and my shoes were returned today. God is fighting for us!” Yes Steve, He is. Thank God for these reports.

Remember it’s time to pray!

Psalm 12 beginning at verse 1, A Psalm of David, “Help, Lord, for the godly man ceases! For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men. They speak idly everyone with his neighbor; with flattering lips and a double heart they speak.”

We’re not the only ones who’ve had to endure seasons where evil speech seems to have become the norm. David, a godly man, was so disturbed by it, that he had to cry out to God for help. We know today that not only was he kept from this, but his life and his voice were also used to bring many people back to a godly focus and to a right way of speaking.

Cry out for help today, that your words would become a guide that leads many in our generation back again to civility and truth.

For you and I, it’s time to pray!

2 Corinthians chapter 7, beginning at verse 5, Paul says, “For indeed, when we came to Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were troubled on every side. Outside were conflicts, inside were fears. Nevertheless God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus.”

Proverbs chapter 25 and verse 25 says, “as cold water to a weary soul, so is good news from a far country.” Have you ever been encouraged by someone when you didn’t expect it? A kind gesture, an encouraging word, or even just a smile can put sunshine back into somebody’s cloudy day.

Ask Jesus to make you the Titus in someone’s life today. You have the power to comfort somebody who desperately needs it.

It’s time to pray!

The book of Joshua, chapter one beginning at verse 8, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Both fear and dismay are potential enemies of the Christian reaching his or her full potential. Fear comes when we are called to face an entrenched and strong enemy. Dismay follows when we look within ourselves and don’t see the resource needed to fight the battle.

Remember today that the battle is not yours, it is the Lord’s. His presence with and within us is the assurance that victory will be ours. Thank Him for your victory today.

The book of Acts chapter 2, beginning at verse 1, “When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and sat upon each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

The Christian life is not meant to be lived by human energy alone. To enable us to stand for God and to fulfill His purpose for each of our lives, God has given us His Holy Spirit. When He comes, He brings divine strength and giftings to enable us to honor Christ through our lives and reach our generation for Him. Ask today for the Holy Spirit.

On Tuesday nights, take a break from the news, Facebook, and social media, and come out to our Worldwide Prayer meeting. Here you won’t have to worry about being “liked,” because the truth is you are already greatly loved by God, and you are called to be part of the great work that He is doing when we gather together to pray.

Listen to some of these praise reports. From New York, “I am a Christian. Last Monday, 9 days ago, the Lord freed me from the long addiction to drinking alcohol. He healed me quickly from it. I’m free! Jesus did it for me.”

And from Michigan, “God is good all the time. I’ve been praying for freedom for a while now, and God has healed me. Showing me exactly how much He loves me.” And they conclude by saving, “Oh I feel like shouting!” Well, why don’t you just go ahead? If He has set you free, then let the redeemed of the Lord say so.

It’s time to pray!
