EXPOSITORY LISTENING - When the Spirit of God corrects us through the Word, it is only because, if He doesn’t, our lives will never add up. Correction is never really confining. It is always loving and freeing. Follow through after reproof. God may have some discipline for you. There may be a tough path of correction. Don’t rush on in your own wisdom.

WHY TONY CAMPOLO IS WRONG - This is a commentary on why the said YouTube video with Tony Campolo is absolutely wrong and ultimately unloving to the homosexual. Jesus said the truth would set people free. But there’s a huge cost to loving people with the truth in a world that increasingly defines love by the people’s self-acceptance. Tony’s approach may feel like love to the gay community, but it’s the love of apathy. It’s the love taking the easy way out while the wrath of God abides on those precious people bound in sin.

BAD RELIGION AND WHAT IT SAYS ABOUT GOD - In a world full of sincere followers of other religions Jesus stood and openly declared “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” Only the narrow path leads to God. The broad path always takes travellers in the opposite direction. It’s the narrow truth that sets us free.

EXPOSITORY LISTENING - Sin should make us feel bad. You aren’t likely to forsake many sins just out of duty. You will experience far more victory over self and the flesh as you linger over the damage sin does to wholeness of life, and, even more important, to the glory of the One who redeemed you by His own blood. Like all good medicine, reproof tastes bad going down, but it brings life to your soul!

EXPOSITORY LISTENING - All of us are needy people who want change. We all want to be men and women of God. His tool that He promises will be perfectly able to accomplish that task is reproof by the Word. But before it will work, it must be embraced and received on His terms, not ours. And wholeness always comes on the far side of reproof.

BAD RELIGION AND WHAT IT SAYS ABOUT GOD - Only a God who condemns sin can redeem us from sin. There is no hope for salvation from a God who takes sin no more seriously than we do. And people can’t choose to embrace part of God’s revealed truth. We can’t pick and choose our way through divine truth like food at a cafeteria counter. Jesus came to redeem sinners, and sin must always be defined on God’s terms, not ours.

EXPOSITORY LISTENING - The first step in the process of Biblical change is teaching. It’s a life-long passion. The potential of God’s Word is as infinite as God Himself is infinite because He’s the One who breathed Scripture out. Give enough time to receiving it to develop a taste for it. Until Jesus returns you never graduate from feeding on it’s truth.

EXPOSITORY LISTENING - There’s promised harvest of fruit. Yes, it takes time to grow - like all fruit. But guard your heart. Hear the Word and hold it fast. Hear the Word with an honest and good heart. That means keep your ears open by keeping your heart repentant. And always hear the Word with patience. It might not look like it right now, but there’s a harvest coming. Jesus guaranteed it.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS - Two questions: “Will any people experience conscious eternal suffering for their rejection of the Savior, Jesus Christ, God the Son? Or will the unsaved just be annihilated (conditional immortality)? Or will everyone actually be saved in the end (universalism)?” And "If we believe some people will suffer eternal judgment in Hell for their rejection of God’s redeeming work in Christ, is it fair for God to punish anyone eternally for sins committed in a short, finite space of life? "

EXPOSITORY LISTENING - Something is going to dwell in your heart richly. Everyone praises something. Everyone has something - some word - that rules his life. Remember, weeding takes constant effort. Weeds grow faster than plants. Think about the little, gradual choices of your life. They all take your heart somewhere. Get rich in the Word of Christ.
