The love that most of us think of regarding God the Father is from John 3:16 - “For God loved the world in this way…” The father gave that which was most precious to Him, (because only He could make the way and because He loves us.

Do your children know that you love them?

What is most precious to you?

Our time is usually the thing that we covet the most. We hold on to it and are slow to share it, even with our children.

To see the ultimate demonstration of God’s goodness, one must return to the gospel, and that takes you back to the cross. It takes you back to all that He has done, bearing our sin in His own body on the tree, and all of its working in all of our lives as Christians, not only now, but for all eternity.

No thoughtful Christian can ever say, ‘if you have problems with suffering, I have all the answers.’ Rather, at the end of the day, will still recognize there is mystery and hurt and a God who is still bigger: We don’t know enough to stand in judgment of God when we suffer. We must strive to trust as Job did. “Though He slay me, I will Trust Him.”

One cannot live faithfully in this life unless you’re ready for the next life.

Mary didn't stand stoically and passively at the foot of the cross, as if she were already made out of stained glass. She collapsed to the ground at the cross. She fell down to the depths of sorrow right there, moaning and wailing and begging the God of Heaven to stop her Hell on earth.

The Bible is quite prepared to talk about certain hope, which in English just doesn’t make any sense. We have this anticipation of the future. It’s still hope, but it is as certain as Christ’s tearing down the veil and entering into the very presence of God, and being accepted by him and all of his life and death on our behalf.

If Jesus has not risen from the dead, then you and I have no reason to think His sacrifice means anything. It would just be one more martyr, squashed by the imperial power of Rome, and so we would remain damned, without hope.

Satan continually tries to make us think it is OK to rebel, because “God is holding out on us.” Whether the Serpent

symbolizes the Devil or embodies the Devil, we cannot exactly know. However, what is clear from additional Scripture is that the Serpent was certainly the locus by which Satan himself was manifest.

Jesus is saying, don’t you know that the heart of The Father is not to laugh at us or to mock us. But the heart of The Father is to leave the ninety-nine saved and go after the one that is lost until He finds him, so that he can be brought back in to safety, back in security, back in the fold, into fellowship.
