Sovereign grace confronts a blind and helpless, begging sinner. Sovereign grace comes to him, places His glorious, merciful hand on his sightless soul, and asks only a response of simple faith.

We need to give people the truth and say, you’re going to be judged in response to the truth about Jesus. But, if you believe the message of Jesus Christ, you will never be judged.

You can always tell the children of God. They hear the truth, they believe the truth, they love the Son, and embrace Him

When we let ourselves do wrong, whether in attitude or in action, we become a slave of that wrong. Gradually, we slip under its control. Later, when we want to break it, we find we are unable. That inability to free ourselves from the sin proves that we are "slaves to sin."

Parents must involve themselves in their children’s lives enough to insure that no other influence takes precedence. Parents often blame others for their wayward children, but they are the ones who allowed peers/others to have more input into their kids’ lives than they have themselves.

The contrast between the revelation He mediates from the Father and the stance of His hearers is so great that what He is saying is about them, but inevitably in judgment of them.

If we desire to understand this crazy, turbulent, and mixed-up world, where so many different explanations of life are hurled at us, we need to listen to the words of the Lord Jesus. His light will guide us through it all.

With Jesus, the Word is never sensationalism. It is availability. He’s there if you want Him.

The apostle Paul argues that if Jesus has not risen from the dead, while you believe that He has risen from the dead, then your faith in Jesus' resurrection is futile; it is worthless.

We are free, not because we are guiltless, but because Jesus Himself bore our sin in His own body on the cross, and God accepts that. The promise of our deliverance from the penalty of sin and the assurance that we are accepted by almighty God is based on the object of our faith: Christ and the Cross
