The Setagaya Family Murder Incident occurred in Kamisoshigaya, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, on the night of December 30 to 31, 2000. A family of four was murdered in their home: a 44-year-old father, a 41-year-old mother, an 8-year-old daughter, and a 6-year-old son. They were stabbed with knives and strangled. The case, officially named "Kamisoshigaya Sanchome Ikka Yonin Goutou Satsujin Jiken" (Robbery-Homicide of a Family of Four in Kamisoshigaya 3-chome), remains unsolved. Numerous pieces of evidence were left at the scene, and the perpetrator exhibited unusual behavior, such as eating ice cream and using the family's computer. A maximum reward of 20 million yen is offered for information leading to an arrest. The victims were discovered by the mother's mother on the morning of December 31.
