In this gambling addiction podcast, The Feeling Better, I've interrupted the reading of my book to provide a very personal expose of my gambling experiences with the Michigan casinos and gaming industry. I am a compulsive, addicted gambler, and my gambling addiction was the worst thing I'd ever experienced--mentally, physically, spiritually, and financially. I cannot understand how the casinos are free to advertise all over social media, TV, and even billboards with splashy ads that entice viewers to play big and to earn free money. These casinos also use some pretty shady in-app business practices that I describe in detail here. Just like big tobacco, it's time we hold these casinos and the gaming industry as a whole responsible, and implement regulation that keeps them from enticing young adult and impressionable new gamblers--as well as those who are already fighting for their lives with a devastating problem gambling addiction.
