On this week's episode of Dumpsterpiece Theatre, we're starting to work our way through a series - Emily in Paris (on Netflix). Our blithe spirit, Emily, finds herself across the pond in the City of Love, tasked with working up a social media strategy for a French luxury marketing company. Predictably, she embarrasses herself as she attempts to fit in in a city where she doesn't speak the language and doesn't understand the culture. We get a hefty dose of "Fish out of Water" in this one, complete with lots of cringey Insta posts, vaginal suppositories, and a mishap with a faulty ...ahem... toy. Grab a croissant and join us in the dumpster!
For series like this, we're going to take bite-sized chunks so we don't end up having to recap an entire season. So this episode only covers episodes 1-2 of the first season. We'll revisit Emily in future episodes but at least you get a chance to watch along. As per usual we're stepping through the show, so there be spoilers ahead.
