The Manual (complied by Arrian) is a set of 53 short practical precepts. The goal of the book is to guide and help Stoics navigate daily life. Epictetus was a Greek philosopher who lived in the 2nd century. He’s one of the most influential figures in Stoicism. He was born into slavery. But later gained his freedom becoming a teacher.
