Episode #007 Stepping out of misalignment and into your flow
In June of 2016 made a decision to get out of a franchise glass business I owned with two partners. It was not an easy decision but it was one that needed to be done. I was not aligned with it. It drained me on a daily basis, I was not motivated to be there and frankly it was this huge weight on my shoulders.
And although I wouldn’t change anything (well maybe… I would like to not have wasted so much time and money.. but really you know that I am sure) because it has led to this moment in time and has made me a better consultant and coach. It was still this massive weight on my shoulders and it still was months after we closed the business.
Maybe I should of known in advance that it wasn’t for me, but the true test was when I knew the energy was off. We fought everyday to stay afloat. We trained and retrained our team to try and be more effective, but everyday it felt like it was pulling teeth. The reason I wanted to share this with you today is that it took courage to shut down that business. We cared about our team and we didn’t want to “quit” but really fighting a battle that you know isn’t for you, is also a waste of everyone’s time.
So where in your life does this show up? If it does? Are you happy everyday? Is 90% of your business fueling you? Do you love the services you provide or the products you sell? If not then consider looking at that. Where can you make the change to step into your alignment?
