Near her retirement, she became increasingly involved in ministries. Her involvement in the pro-life movement eventually led to fighting for the life of an unborn child on a sidewalk in Orlando and then being jailed for unlawful protesting only hours later. Soon after she was the named Plaintiff in the United States Supreme court case that challenged a restriction to speak to women on public sidewalks about safe alternatives to abortion. This remarkable woman is now battling end-stage pancreatic cancer.
