For 17 years, Martin and Gracia Burnham were missionaries in the Philippines with New Tribes Mission. Martin was a jungle pilot in the Philippines and delivered mail and supplies to missionaries and transported sick and injured patients to medical facilities.
On May 27, 2001 while celebrating their 18th wedding anniversary in a resort in the Philippines, the Burnhams were taken captive by a militant group of Muslims.
For more than a year under the total control of their captives, they were constantly on the move living in primitive conditions in the jungle and evading capture from the Philippine military and witnessing gun battles.
On the afternoon of June 27, 2002, the Philippine military attempted another rescue, Martin was killed during the gun fight. Gracia was wounded but rescued.

Niños de Mexico is a non-profit mission supported by churches throughout the United States. The ministry provides homes to orphaned or abandoned street children in Mexico City.
Established in 1967, the organization operates eight children’s homes in Mexico City and Cholula, Puebla. Each home houses approximately 11-15 children.
