Regeneration (the process by which God saves man) is a lifelong process. The extent to which a man is regenerated is the extent to which he is influenced by angels or demons . This is because man is but a vessel, and hence lives from angelic or demonic influences according to his affections (what he loves). 

To wit, every man is under some form of demonic oppression.

He highlights the two levels of demonic oppression: The Inner level and the Outer level. He further demonstrates how one can break free from demonic oppression on the outer level since it is relatively easier, and through that gain total freedom on the inner level as well.
