Addiction is a thorny issue, which enslaves us in secrecy and shame, and gradually depletes our soul.  Fortified by several deceptions, its grip on a captive's heart is strong.  Without the right motive fueled by truth, any attempt to break free from an addiction will prove futile, and keep the captive bound in a cycle of hopelessness.
