The Instagram explore page often makes it seem that the content we post has to fit into certain categories, and has to appear perfect. What’s important to remember is that every social media user is essentially an autobiographer.

Each person is creating their own story of what their life is like through visuals that are housed in one place. While it can be a great outlet for self-expression and connection, it can also too often become a tool for comparison.

We want to recognize that the amount of likes we get on Instagram isn’t a reflection of how valid and worthy we are in real life. Let’s elevate our experience by taking a look at our intentions of what we are posting, and recognize that we are worthy regardless of whether we post a photo that fits into the one consciousness of Instagram.
