We first learn truths from doctrine via our natural senses. These truths we gather through the senses come to meet deep-seated falsehoods from which we lived before meeting the truth. Thus, the external knowledge resides only in our external memory. As such, we are not deeply affected by such knowledge. That is why we doubt the many truths we’ve read or heard from scripture in the face of challenges. For our appreciation of truth to form our conviction, we must perceive it through our spiritual senses from within. Such is spiritual truth. This is what gives us first-hand experience with the truth beyond every doubt. The pursuit of the Christian is the pursuit of spiritual truth. This is what constitute seeing the Kingdom.
In the series, “The Heavenly Vision”, Pastor Jeffrey Walter demonstrates that the Christian life is founded on personal revelation. In this episode, “A Call To See The Kingdom”, he distinguishes spiritual truth from natural truth in a practical way, explaining why spiritual knowledge is the only guarantee to have contact with God. He admonishes us to labour with the natural truths till we encounter spiritual truth, which is the truth that forms our faith and suffices in the face of the challenges of life.
This message is a call to labour for spiritual truth that we may truly encounter the Lord.
