Everyone lives from their inner understanding (a deep-seated conviction). This inner understanding is the light that instructs a person how to live their life. Thus, one becomes a slave to their inner understanding. As such, a person who agrees to the word of God only in the outward understanding, has their inner understanding leading them in a path contrary to the truth.

In the message, The Word of Reconciliation, Pastor Jeffrey Walter explains how a person constructs their inner understanding to be rebellious to God’s wisdom and consequently becomes alienated from the life of God. He further demonstrates that the true word of reconciliation is the only hope and remedy for our rebellious inner understanding. And that the true doctrine is one that has the capacity to reconcile not our outer understanding but our inner understanding to God. We are therefore admonished to labour to prove the efficacy of this word in our own lives by allowing it to reconcile us to God.
