A quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson - "Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously, And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude." Think about that for a moment - 'cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you". When I find a dime on the ground, I pick it up and am so excited and grateful for the gift. 'THANK YOU' I say excitedly...I also throw in a question - "how can it get any better than this?". What happens is the Universe witnesses you being grateful, and hears the question and what do you think is going to happen? You will be given more to be grateful for!!! The Universe will show you 'how it can get better!!! That is actually the greatest side effect to being grateful! For me... its about how it makes me feel. Take for example, you are going through a Tim Horton's drive through...you order your coffee - or whatever you are having and they tell you what your order is going to cost. You then have a choice of saying nothing...saying 'thank you' - obviously not being that excited OR you can put some excitement in your voice..."THANK YOU SO MUCH". They may think you are nuts on the other end, or you may just make their day. Whatever the case, YOU feel amazing when you do it. And then there is the weather... What if, instead of complaining about the weather as most people like to do, you find something to feel grateful about it. When it's raining, isn't it incredible how the water droplets, sit on the leaf? Doesn't it look amazing the way the rain is hitting that puddle? Really pay attention and look for something to be grateful for! When you are walking to work, isn't the sound of the birds simply amazing? They are singing to you as you walk by and are you paying attention and being grateful or are you focusing on the busy day you are about to have? Being grateful raises your vibration very quickly. When you are in a high state of vibration, you will feel the difference in your life. Being in a state of gratitude changes everything! Take Masaru Emoto's work. He is the author of a book that I read called "Hidden Messages in Water". He documented water before and after positive thoughts - even toxic water before and after a Buddist prayer was given to it. The photos of his work can be found online - just google 'the healing power of water' (another book he wrote). Basically, the positive words and thoughts directed to the water, produced a beautiful snowflake. Negative thoughts and words created something totally different - not very pretty at all. This work resonated with me since we are mostly water and therefore, wouldn't it make sense that negative thoughts would effect US in a negative way...just like positive thoughts would effect us in a positive way. Something to think about isn't it? The freebie I have for you this week is a workbook that you can download with a daily gratitude practice you can start today - one that will completely change your life experience. As usual, be sure let us all know how you made out on the Telfer Coaching facebook page. Just a reminder...The important part to remember is to DO the work...unless you do something different...how can your life change?
