Louise Hay is, who I would call the 'affirmation' creator - at least affirmations are what made Louise Hay very popular. She has changed so many lives and although she has passed away (August 30th, 2017) - which was by the way, the same day that Wayne Dwyer passed away 2 years earlier!!! Lousie was 90 years old and she will always be remembered for her positive affirmations and all the programs she created, that changed so many peoples lives. One of her websites, has what is called a
'Daily Positive Affirmation' and it will give you one of Louise's affirmations to lift your spirit for the day - I highly recommend going there and signing up. The idea behind repeating positive affirmations is to re-program your subconscious mind. There are times, where we believe something that may not be true - for example, 'I am not worth it' or I am ugly, when in reality 'you are a beautiful person filled with lovel'. Which one of these statements ring true for you? We all have these hidden programs that run without our awareness. When we repeat positive affirmation we erase the negative and replace it with a program that will change our life experience. This releases its enormous power to materialize the intention of the words and phrases in the outside world. This does not mean that every word you think or say will bring results. In order to trigger the subconscious mind into action, the words have to be said with attention, intention and when combined with emotion - will turbo charge the results! Meaning you will see results that much faster. Affirmations help you overcome your self-sabotaging, negative thoughts. They actually help you believe in what you are affirming to yourself, which will make the positive change to your life that you are desiring. You could use affirmations to raise your confidence, improve your self-esteem, finish projects around the house, or improve your productivity. You can pair using affirmations with Creative Visualization - to double the power! - I talked about creative visulization in my podcast #006. Start by thinking of an area of your life that you would like to transform. For example, you would like to have more confinence or self-esteem - whatever you would like to change. Write down everything you would like to transform, and for each of these, come up with a positive statement (that is present-tense) that you can repeat to yourself throughout your day - something short and sweet. Here are some examples of positive affirmations:
- I have plenty of creativity for this project.
- My work will be recognized in a positive way by my boss and colleagues.
- I can do this!
- My opinion is respected and valued by my team.
- I am successful.
- I am honest in my life, and my work.
- I like completing tasks and projects on time.
- I'm grateful for the job I have.
- I enjoy working with my team.
- I'm bringing a positive attitude to work every day.
- I am excellent at what I do.
- I am generous.
- I am happy.
- I will be a leader in my organization.
Please note: these affirmations came from mindtools.com As I mentioned earlier, combine any affirmation with an emotion and you will supercharge it! Be enthusiastic when saying the affirmation and you will add excitement to the process - which will bring it to reality much faster! Remember.... - your affirmation is positive and feels awesome to you and makes you feel so wonderful and excited - filled with light. - Write it down and repeat it a few times throughout the day. - If you have trouble writing your own, go to louishay.com and find one that resonates with you.
