Almost two years I published a Top 10 Mom Lessons learned. It was my first article and one I sat with a long time before publishing as I pondered what it was like to be a mom, single mom, stepmom and co parent.

I'll spend the next 10 weeks speaking to my perspective at the time I published the article and where I've changed or my perspective is more holistic now. I might even share a time or two I really messed up - because why not - it' all part of the process.

The first of 10 is the reminder that even though kids are part of the relationship, they're not responsible for your relationship.
