019 Common Rider Problems Part I of III - Hands

Listen Later

Whether you do barrel racing, cutting, dressage, jumping or trail riding, all of us should be striving to improve our riding skills. Many riders are completely oblivious that they are sending their horses confusing and contradictory signals. Because of that, I have decided to focus this episode on the most common rider problems that I see and how to fix them. I will go through issues with hands, legs and seat but keep in mind that they are all interrelated. The three types of aids work best if you use the correctly together. This means that, if you don't have the greatest hands in the world, the fact that you have amazing leg cues may not completely compensate. You need to focus on all three areas and work on improving your weak spots in order to become a great rider.

In this episode, Katrina kicks off the first part of a three part series about improving your riding skills. This first installment focuses on improving your hands. Want to improve your hands while riding? Tune in!
