We have not been called to acquire natural knowledge of the truth, but a spiritual revelation of the truth (an encounter with the Lord in the holy of holies). It is this spiritual knowledge that rules us and delivers us from the attacks of the enemy. This is what the spiritual barriers keep us from participating in. To break through the barriers to lay hold of the riches of His glory, God instituted the atonement.
