In accessing what God has for us through prayer, the desire for God's intervention in our situation is very crucial. This desire, however, must not stand in the way of our openness to have a course correction from the Spirit of God whilst in prayer.   

This turning of our will from ourselves towards God when we pray in the Spirit opens us up to receive power, with which we can exert the will of God on the situations of life we deal with.
