The Lord promises us the Spirit which is our ultimate solution in this life. Yet, we must be prepared to receive this promise. To be made ready for the Spirit, we must go the whole distance, and not what is perceived by us to be a great deal of distance. Why are we unwilling the go the whole distance in attaining the Spirit? Perhaps, we do not yet appreciate the new life we stand to gain at the end of the journey – a life where a new spirit (Lord) takes over us and rule us from above, elevating us to transcend this material life.
