Hell has a way of training the man that focuses on the outward life. This training happens automatically unless one consciously submits to the kind of training God prescribes. The desire of God is to bring us on a journey to true spirituality and to save us from hell. 

In this message titled "Beginning the Journey," Pastor Jeffrey Walter calls believers to realign their priorities by shifting their focus to the inner life. He explains what it means to “hate” father, mother, wife, children, brother, sister and one's own life in the pursuit of this spirituality. He highlights counting the cost of the journey towards spirituality and outlines the things that will be required to train out the "old self".

[28] For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
