020 Joel Graybeal - Everything is Blastoff

Listen Later

Joel Graybeal is Managing Partner of Triangle Rock Club, a network of state-of-the-art indoor climbing and fitness facilities with 4 locations in North Carolina and 1 in Virginia.  He joined the Triangle ownership team in 2012 after a successful 25-year career in mortgage banking.  Before banking Joel spent 4 years in the Pentagon as a civilian defense contractor. Joel's degree from The University of Maryland is in Aerospace Engineering. Yeah, so that means he’s also a rocket scientist! Joel is the real deal and gives of his time and talents like no-one I know.

In this episode Steve, Jason, and Joel discuss:

  • The forced multiplier effect and building business with like-minded employees toward the same end goal.
  • Looking forward and keep moving, only look back once in a while because you can’t change the past, you can only learn from it.
  • Working with different types of employees and believing in the potential of people.
  • Strive to live up to your full potential and help the people around you to live up to theirs.

Key Takeaways:

  • Don’t compare yourself to anyone else and don’t compare your company to any other company.
  • Turning mistakes into “coaching moments” not negative experiences.
  • Making things happen and what happens is all about your mindset.
