On this edition of Century: Stimulant Treatment and Kratom. There are

efforts underway in various states to regulate kratom. On this week\'s

show we take a look at efforts in Washington state and Missouri,

specifically the Washington bill HB2291, Establishing the kratom

consumer protection act, lead sponsor Representative Kristine Reeves;

and Missouri bill SB 927, Regulates the sale of kratom in the state,

lead sponsor Senator Maggie Nurrenbern. Plus, the #ScaleUp initiative,

scalable interventions for the treatment and care of stimulant use

disorders, a joint initiative by the United Nations Office on Drugs

and Crime, the World Health Organization, and the European Union Drugs

Agency, was launched on January 28. We hear a presentation from that

launch by Thiago Fidalgo, MD, PhD, Associate Professor in the

Department of Psychiatry at Federal University of So Paulo, Brazil.
