On this edition of Century: Harm Reduction in Vermont. It\'s part two
of a conversation with Morgan Fox, Political Director at the National
Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML). Plus, the city
of Burlington, VT is considering a regressive package of laws
targeting people who are unhoused, people experiencing mental health
issues, and people who use drugs. The 21-page-long Burlington Forward
legislative package was introduced by the Burlington City Council\'s
Democratic caucus on July 24 and was to be voted on by the Council on
August 3. On the afternoon of August 3, before that City Council
meeting, the organization Vermont Harm Reduction Advocates held a news
conference at City Hall to express their concerns and their strong
opposition. On today\'s show we\'ll hear two of the speakers at the news
conference: Bella Fearn with Vermont Harm Reduction Advocates and the
BTV Clean Up Crew, and Marek Broderick, Burlington City Councilor for
Ward Eight.
