Key Takeaways:

There is a larger meaning behind unexpected events that take place in your life. You might not always know yet why something is unfolding the way it is.

There is always a silver lining, no matter how bad the situation you find yourself might be. Make an effort to view things positively with intention.

Sudden interruptions in your life are an opportunity to practice mindfulness about what works and what may not be working with you.

When faced with an unexpected situation, you have one main decision to make: Am I going to keep doing something that I know doesn’t work? Or am I going to make a correction?

When negative unexpected events happen, we tend to focus on negative emotions. But, research shows that negative emotions make our brain’s decision making powers less effective. This makes mindfulness in tough situations all the more pressing.

Mindfulness in tough situations gets you where you want to be faster! If you let something ruin your day, you lose the day. That is one day longer in a negative situation.

Reactions come from an automatic part of your brain. A response is something that you intentionally choose to do. When an unexpected situation happens, as yours: am I reacting or am I responding?

If you want a good outcome, you have to plan that outcome. Instead of asking yourself: what if it doesn’t work, ask yourself what if it goes well?

There is a lot more than what you see when a tough situation happens:

“If you only believe in what you see, then you are missing out on three quarters of what we are supposed to experience in this earth school...Trust that everything is going to turn out the way it is supposed to turn out. You don’t need to know how it is happening, or how quickly it is going to turn out, or how it is going to actually be processed. You just have to trust the outcome” - Steven the Medium
