What do Facebook ads have to do with unicorn dust and glitter?

Well, there's a well known saying that goes something like this: "You can't polish a turd.....but you can roll it in glitter"

Meaning that some things are just so bad that you can't make them better. But you can try to hide them behind something else.

Like Facebook ads.
