A great deal of resistance is set against the man who decides to break free from the addiction that plagues him/her. This is because breaking away from an addiction is spiritual. To reclaim oneself, one has to battle with evil forces, and no man is able to battle these unseen evil forces by himself. In reality, it is the Lord Himself who battles the enemy that plagues us, through this proxy war.
In this series, “Breaking the Chains of Addiction”, Pastor Jeffrey Walter presents an eye-witness exposé on how to successfully journey from the bondage of addiction into permanent freedom. He draws lessons from his own journey and profoundly ministers the grace of God.
In this Episode, "Why it is difficult to break an addiction", Pastor Jeffrey Walter by the grace of God, shows how addictions are formed and why they are difficult to break. He uncovers the underlying antecedent conditions that facilitate the stirring of evil desires: Inherited Evils (evil tendencies that are passed on from generation to generation through the bloodline) and Environmental influences. This message unveils how a person becomes a lawful captive of the enemy by yielding his desires to the intelligent manipulations of hell, and highlights the successive progression into deeper evils, through further adherence to more diabolical stirrings.
Beloved, no matter how far you have gone in your addiction, never convince yourself that there is nothing wrong with it (do not rationalize it). God can push back against the horde of hell that holds you captive. He will give you a renewed sense of hope to rise up and fight. Receive the grace to fight, as you listen to this message.
Note: This message is one of a 7-part series preached during the Breaking the Chains of Addiction Special Program held in February. Kindly listen to the entire series for a complete understanding.
