Demonic attacks can be categorized into natural anxieties and spiritual anxieties. Natural anxieties result from the fear of loss of the natural life or things pertaining to it while the spiritual anxieties result from the fear of loss of the spiritual life (which constitute temptations).
Usually, our approach to fighting natural anxieties is to move to secure our natural possessions. This approach is not effective in alleviating natural anxieties and only ends up frustrating us. This is because what makes natural anxieties possible with us is our love for self and the world. Thus, the only way we can overcome them is by giving up those loves (i.e., through repentance).
In the message, “Dealing With The Forces of Darkness: The Man In Battle”, Pastor Jeffrey Walter demonstrates how we can deal with natural anxieties and spiritual anxieties. He paints an image of the nature of spiritual battles (temptations) as described in the Psalms and what should be our attitude as we go through them.
