Doctrine teaches how a man must live and how he must believe. It is the foundation from which the scriptures are understood. Since everyone interprets the scriptures from the lens of doctrine, a person's beliefs significantly impact their understanding and life. Because of this, when a man has a false doctrine, he abuses the scriptures. Conversely, the man who holds the right doctrine has the opportunity to know the right things till eternity. This raises important questions: How does one come to know true doctrine? And how can a person identify or discern true doctrine when taught by another?
This December 2024 End of Year Special Program presents a series on the Word of God. The importance and nature of the Word of God (scriptures) are explained. Teachings are presented on how doctrine and the scriptures can be understood and confirmed. Pastor Jeffrey Walter emphasizes the necessity of preaching the true gospel (repentance and the remission of sins) while highlighting the proper disposition required of "Fishers of Men", urging us to become laborers in the Lord’s harvest.
Pastor Jeffrey Walter, in this episode, “Enlightenment Pt. 2”, continues the teaching on how a man can be enlightened by the internal sense of the scriptures based on the disposition of their heart. He explains how to come by true doctrine, and sheds light on how a person can confirm the truth of a doctrine taught by another. Additionally, he gives several examples of prevalent false doctrines in current Christendom, exposing their underlying evil intentions.
This message will set you in pursuit of a pure heart, from which you can find true doctrine. It will also empower you with grace to discern and confirm the doctrine you are taught.
