Pastor Jeffrey Walter

03 TSC Jun 25 Accra | The Lonely Road

Listen Later

Being in the majority doesn’t always mean being right. Often, the path of truth is a lonely one—one that requires letting go of the need to be accepted and validated by others. When our desire for approval outweighs our convictions, we become shaky and wane in the strength required to move along with the Lord.

In this series, Pastor Jeffrey Walter teaches on what it truly means to have an encounter with God, exploring the nature and purpose of the two dimensions of encountering God. He discusses the often lonely road of bearing true witness to the truth we encounter in God and the need for submission in our dealings with the Lord as we seek to truly encounter Him.

In this message titled "The Lonely Road," Pastor Jeffrey Walter explains why being in the minority feels odd and challenges us to confront our desire for acceptance. He teaches that until we die to this desire for validation and respect from men, we can not fully surrender to God and boldly live out the truths we have encountered. Referencing Matthew 7:13–14, he explains how the strait gate prunes out the flesh, permitting only the righteous at heart to enter in.

This sermon is a powerful call to boldly live out and share the truths we have encountered, even when that road is unpopular and lonely. Listen and be strengthened.

Key Scripture:  Matthew 7:13-14 KJV

[13]  Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: [14] because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Other scriptures:  Numbers 13:30-33, 14:6-8 [All scriptures in KJV]
