Why would we dismiss as ordinary, the person God has sent to help us? Why do we question the spiritual authority He has placed over us? Why do we believe we are better off hearing from God directly and on our own, rather than through our shepherds (leaders)?
The answer to these questions is simple: pride. When we focus on reducing the one God has sent to us to just a mere man, we miss every spiritual influence that flows through the Lord’s ordained vessel to us. Truly, pride blocks us from catching the spirit of the leader who has been placed over us.
In this October 2024 Special Programme, Pastor Jeffrey Walter sheds light on the underlying principles governing spiritual leadership, as established in heaven, and how leadership in the church (on the earth) must be patterned after this. He illustrates how to honour spiritual leadership, explains the essence of point of contact, uncovers pride as the stumbling block to receiving from spiritual leadership, and establishes the link between leadership and purpose.
In this episode, "Pride", Pastor Jeffrey Walter points out how the training of a leader qualifies him to project spiritual spheres, in order to be a blessing to God’s people. He points out the danger of equating oneself to one's leader and clearly identifies “Pride” as the major reason why people struggle to submit to the spiritual influence (sphere) being cast by their Leader. Pastor Walter also teaches the attitudes we must have when we approach our leaders, in order to receive spiritual impartations from these God-sent vessels.
When pride goes away, what is obtained is trust — absolute trust in the Leader appointed by God for your benefit. Hallelujah!
Theme passage: 2 Kings 5:1-14 KJV - The Healing of Naaman, the Leper
